StudyIsland: An SOL Preparation Opportunity
In an effort to provide an additional line of support for our students as they prepare for the Virginia SOL assessments in mathematics and language arts, Marsteller has purchased a subscription to Study Island for all students taking SOL assessments in those subject areas.
Students have received an information brochure, username, and password from their language arts teacher to enable them to understand how to use StudyIsland effectively. A side benefit of the program is that parents and teachers can monitor student work on StudyIsland, assisting in identifying student strengths and weaknesses.
For further information on StudyIsland, please refer to the informational brochure brought home by your child or have your child ask her or her teacher.

SOLpass Added for Marsteller

Each section has previously released SOL tests, review questions, fun activities and games, etc. to review for the SOLs.  Your students can access it from home, if they have Internet access, to review for their upcoming SOLs.
Marsteller has purchased a school subscription to SOLpass.  SOLpass is a review site for the VA Social Studies and Science SOLs.  To access it, go to http://solpass.org (note that it does not begin with "www.") and click on the link for Middle Schools.  There are sections on U. S. history, as well as a Science section, which is broken down for 6th, 7th and 8th grades subjects.  Once you choose a section, it will ask for a password. Your student can get the password from a teacher at school.  Note: It is not case sensitive.
